SANCAKLAR MOSQUE

Award-Winning Architecture and Protection
Designed by Emre Arolat Architecture and known in literature as the “world’s first underground mosque”, Sancaklar Mosque is inspired by the simplicity of the Cave of Hira. Going beyond classical mosque forms and integrating with the terrain, this masterpiece has won the world’s most prestigious architectural awards, such as the WAF “Best Religious Building of the Year” and the RIBA “Award for International Excellence”.
The most characteristic feature of this award-winning structure is its natural exposed concrete texture that gives a “cave” feeling. For the sustainability of this unique aesthetic, KEIM Concretal Lasur, which does not form a film layer on the surface, was preferred.
Advantages
- Preserves the natural matte look of concrete
- Water vapor permeable
- Penetrates the cross-section
- Balances color differences
- A1 class inorganic pigments

KEIM Concretal-Lasur
